I.Do.Life.

What do I do?
I do life,
like a boss.

Haha jussssttt kidding.
But seriously, if there's one thing I do it's try and live my life to the fullest.
This has been especially true since the tragedy in my home town last December.

Sandy Hook 100% changed my life.
Not that I made any super noticeable changes.
Like, I don't go out bungee jumping or sky diving to make sure I get everything out of life.
But I do look at life differently.

If there's one thing Sandy Hook taught me it's that we never know when our last day is going to be.
So now, I try to change my perspective on life.
I used to always be in a rush for the next step,

'I can't wait meet the person I'm going to marry'
'I can't wait to get married'
'I can't wait to buy a house'
'I can't wait to have kids'

But now I know I need to slow down and just enjoy where I'm at now.
I will never be a newlywed again.
My husband and I will never just be the two of us again...after we have kids.
This is an important time.
Just like all the different phases of my life.

My day - to - day life has changed a little too.
I always want to be doing something.
My husband says that I need to relax more.
Read.
Take a nap.
Just sit in the sun.

But relaxing to me always feels like wasted time.
Not that relaxing isn't important, because it is
but I want to get out for more walks, spend more time with my husband and dogs,
have a garden and do the things I want to do while I can.
And that stuff can be relaxing.
It's just not sitting on the couch type of relaxing.

I used to make excuses for stuff like not taking my dogs out.
It was always not nice enough, or I had other things to do, blah, blah blah.
Excuses, excuses, excuses.

Not anymore.
Everyday is an opportunity and
I'm going to take every one that God gives me.

And on that note, I think I'll go take my dogs for a walk on this beautiful afternoon!

  1. Yes, yes, yes!!!! I'm one of those, "I can't wait until" people and I always have to stop myself! My husband tells me to relax and take time to slow down. :P I'm no good at that!
